You know how I harp on and on and ON about how important it is to eat healthily? Yes, I know – it’s a lot of harping. But there are good reasons for it. It’s not because I’m bored and don’t have anything better to do. It is also not so that I can turn you all into crazy-jacked, badass CrossFit champions (although this may well happen to you).

It is mainly to get you into the healthiest state possible, so you can go off and make the most of your life in every way possible. That is what makes me happy. Seeing people go from not-incredibly-healthy to incredibly healthy. Even better than that, I love seeing people go from not-at-all-healthy to super-healthy. And that is why I love this video. It demonstrates, in a very powerful way, just how profoundly the foods we eat can affect our health. The woman in the video (Dr Terry Wahls) suffers from Multiple Sclerosis – a debilitating and potentially life-threatening auto-immune condition. She describes how she managed to, not only halt the progression of her symptoms, but actually reverse them, simply through addressing her diet. She went from being basically paralyzed to being able to ride a bicycle and go for hikes with her family.

Which reminds me of one of my favorite nutrition quotations:

“The food you eat can be either the safest & most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” – Ann Wigmore

This is why I eat the way I eat. Because, if food can cause a woman to go from being paralyzed to being able to live a fully functioning active life, imagine what it can do to make those of us who are already mostly healthy feel even more so.

Besides, so many of us already have various health-concerns which are best nipped in the bud early. I don’t know about you, but I very much want to be as healthy and fit as well into my old age as possible. Seriously, click on that link – the woman is amazing.

Anyway, I would encourage all of you to watch this short video and hope it will inspire you as much as it did me.
